Stephanus Axnanda is a seasoned professional in the field of chemistry, currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Merck since December 2017, focusing on the solid-state characterization of small molecules related to drug substances. Previously, Stephanus held positions as a Senior Scientist and Research Scientist at BASF, specializing in X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy for catalyst and battery material surface characterization. Earlier experience includes a postdoctoral associate role at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where electrochemistry and surface science techniques were applied, and a research associate position at Brookhaven National Laboratory, concentrating on heterogeneous catalysis for fuel cell applications. Stephanus began the academic journey as a research assistant at Texas A&M University while earning a Ph.D. in Chemistry and multiple degrees in Chemical Engineering.
