Ania Fryszkowska

Senior Principal Scientist, Chemical Biotechnologies at Merck

Ania Fryszkowska is an experienced biocatalysis specialist currently serving as the Director at Merck since November 2015, overseeing a biocatalysis group that integrates enzyme applications into the drug development pipeline. Prior roles include Principal Scientist and Associate Principal Scientist in Process Chemistry and Biocatalysis at Merck, as well as Senior Research Scientist at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories EU, where Ania designed enzymatic routes for chiral intermediates and developed novel chemoenzymatic processes. Ania's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Warsaw University of Technology, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Management from the University of Salford, and experience as a Post Doctoral Research Associate in Biocatalysis at the University of Manchester. Additional early experience includes a brief role as a Visiting Graduate Student at Vanderbilt University and an internship at Business Communication Associates.
