Sophia Muenkel is an experienced Compliance Officer at Merck Gruppe, having held several key roles since January 2013, including Compliance Partner for global central functions and Biopharma's global R&D. In these positions, Sophia is responsible for advising on compliance matters across various areas, leading a team of compliance experts, and overseeing compliance for multiple healthcare entities in the D-A-CH region. Prior to these roles, Sophia served as Group Compliance Counsel in both Merck's corporate compliance office in Germany and EMD Serono, Inc. in the USA, focusing on global compliance management and internal investigations. Sophia holds a Doctor of Law degree from Goethe University Frankfurt and has completed extensive legal education, including a focus on criminal law and corporate defense at the University of Mannheim.
