Gordon Kelly is an experienced professional in the composites industry, currently serving as the Composite Manufacturing & Quality Director and Head of Composites at Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team since November 2016. Prior to this role, Gordon held the position of CEO at GKN Aerospace Applied Composites from May 2013 to November 2016. Gordon's background includes significant roles at GE Aviation, where responsibilities included Global Composite Strategy Leader, Supply Chain Engineering Leader, and Head of Composites from June 2008 to May 2013. Earlier career experiences include Group Leader - Composite Stress at Airbus and Project Manager Development at Alcan Composite Structures. Gordon's technical foundation was established at ABB Corporate Research as a Development Engineer from 1996 to 2000. Educational credentials include a PhD in Lightweight Structures from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.
