Nate Kelsey CPP®, CSSP, ACEM-Ga. has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the field of public safety and security. Nate currently serves as the Assistant Director of Public Safety at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to this, Nate had a long tenure at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, where they served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. During their time there, they received specialized training in tactical response and SWAT and was a member of the Metropolitan Medical Strike Team. Nate also participated in major events such as the 1996 Olympics and the Super Bowl. Nate is also the President and Founder of Kelsey Security Management Inc., a firm that provides security services to various industries and government entities. Nate oversees all daily operations of the company, including sales, marketing, hiring, and training. Notably, they provided security services to the City of Atlanta at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for 11 years. Additionally, Nate has experience in the field of sports security, having held positions at the Atlanta Braves, where they served as a Senior Manager of Stadium Operations and Security. Nate managed a large staff during the regular baseball season and implemented customer service and best practice training. Prior to this, they worked at Morehouse School of Medicine as a Police Officer. Overall, Nate Kelsey has a diverse and extensive background in public safety and security, demonstrating their expertise and leadership in the field.
Nate Kelsey CPP®, CSSP, ACEM-Ga. obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business, completing their studies from 1984 to 1989. Following this, they pursued a Masters of Arts degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from the American Military University, completing their studies from 2010 to 2012.
In addition to their educational background, Nate holds several certifications. In October 2016, they obtained the Certified Protection Professional (CPP)® certification from ASIS International. Nate also earned the Advanced Certified Emergency Manager-Georgia certification from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA)/Homeland Security in September 2012. Most recently, in March 2023, Nate completed the Senior Leader Course: Sports and Entertainment Security from NCS4, demonstrating their commitment to professional growth and expertise in the field.
