Francois-Xavier Toubhantz

Francois-Xavier Toubhantz has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Francois-Xavier began their career as an Ingenieur stagiaire at Traiteur de Paris in 2003. Francois-Xavier then worked at Faccenda Group Ltd as a Section Manager, where they implemented Lean Manufacturing techniques and improved ergonomics. Toubhantz later joined MSD Sharp & Dohme GmbH as a Paracox Production Senior Technician, managing a team of technicians and manufacturing antigens for a poultry vaccine.

In 2011, Toubhantz joined Oxford BioMedica as a Senior Biotechnologist, overseeing the production of viral vectors for Novartis CTL019 program and obtaining approval from the UK MHRA for manufacturing bulk drug material. Francois-Xavier was later promoted to Production Manager, responsible for ensuring GMP compliance, health, and safety standards at the facility.

Since 2017, Toubhantz has been working at MeiraGTx, initially as a Production Manager overseeing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Francois-Xavier then became Head of Technology Transfer, leading a team involved in the industrialization of newly developed processes and the expansion of manufacturing capabilities. Currently, Toubhantz serves as the New Product/Process Introduction & Tech Transfer Director for the UK & Ireland.

Francois-Xavier Toubhantz completed their MSc in Food Production Systems Engineering at Polytech Lille from 1998 to 2003. In 2002, they also attended the Napier University of Edinburgh, focusing on the Department of Food Microbiology and Biotechnology. Additionally, during the same year, they studied at The Scottish Agricultural College, although the field of study is not specified.
