Jonas C. has a diverse work experience in the field of photography and media. Jonas started their career as a freelance photographer, writer, and editor in 2010, contributing to various publications such as L'Oeil de la Photographie, Camera, and France-Amérique. In 2011, they became a contributor at the International Center of Photography.
From 2010 to 2015, Jonas worked as a reporter for L'Oeil de la Photographie, covering photography exhibitions and writing critical articles on the contemporary role of the medium. Jonas also worked as a contributing photographer for Contour by Getty Images, specializing in high-end portraiture of cinema celebrities.
In 2013, Jonas became the editor-in-chief of Camera, a prominent European photo review publication. Jonas managed the quarterly bilingual French/English publication and focused on specific photographic themes.
In 2016, Jonas became the editor-in-chief of L'Oeil de la Photographie, a highly respected daily online magazine. Jonas oversaw the production of portfolios, corrected and proofread content in two languages, and wrote articles on photography exhibitions and contemporary trends.
Jonas then joined Meero in 2019, where they took on the role of editorial director, overseeing the production of editorial content on photography and cultural projects. Jonas also worked as a project manager, building Discovery by Meero, an online platform for photography education.
In the same year, Jonas also worked as the director of Blind Magazine, leading the production of an online media specializing in photography and visual storytelling. Jonas grew its audience to 2 million readers per year and built partnerships with brands and institutions.
Throughout their career, Jonas has demonstrated a strong passion for photography and has gained extensive experience in various roles within the industry.
From 2004 to 2007, Jonas C. attended Université Paris Cité where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in STAPS. Later, from 2008 to 2009, they studied at EPJT Tours and obtained a DUT degree in Journalism.
