Thomas Mullen has extensive experience in the field of clinical research and medical device development, currently serving as Clinical Research Strategy Director at Medtronic since 1999. Mullen has provided scientific and strategic leadership in advancing cardiac implantable device therapies and has also directed global teams to bring new heart failure therapies from proof-of-concept to market. Previously, Mullen led research initiatives focusing on innovative therapies for heart failure and hypertension, with a strong background as a principal scientist in cardiac arrhythmia research. Earlier academic roles included an instructorship at Harvard Medical School. Mullen's educational credentials include a PhD in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics from the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, an SM in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Biomedical applications from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
