Marek L. Kowalski is the Director of the Healthy Ageing Research Center (HARC) at the Medical University of Lodz since 2011, where the focus is on supporting healthy aging through biomedical research and collaborations. Simultaneously, Marek serves as a Professor and Chairman in the Department of Immunology, Rheumatology & Allergy at the same university since 1994, and as Head of the Allergy and Asthma Clinic at the Central University Hospital since January 1994. Prior experience includes serving as an Assistant and Associate Professor in the Department of Pulmonary Diseases at the Medical Academy of Łódź from 1977 to 1994, and as a Visiting Fellow at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from 1986 to 1988. Marek earned an M.D. in medicine from the Medical University of Lodz, Poland, between 1971 and 1977, following earlier education at I Liceum Tomaszow Mazowiecki from 1967 to 1971.
