Chad Day

Chad Day is a board member of the Medford Chamber of Commerce. Chad has also worked as an expert recreational aquatics specialist and assistant director of campus recreation, aquatics, and risk management.

Day has provided aquatic training and consulting to Columbus Consolidated Government to ensure safety standards are met and appropriate training is provided to all aquatic staff. Chad also developed and maintained a department training manual while working at Auburn University.

During their time at Auburn University, Day was also responsible for managing, mentoring, and developing staff. Chad was a member of the Division of Student Affairs Assessment Team and the Division of Student Affairs Professional Development Work Group. In addition, they served as Third Party Investigator for Student Conduct and as a Student Conduct Official at home football games.

In their role as assistant director, Day oversaw the construction of a new swimming pool and recommended cutting-edge technology for the project. Chad also developed a comprehensive risk management plan for a 240,000 square foot building under construction. In total, they increased the number of Certified American Red Cross Instructors in their department from 4 to 30 in 13 months.

In addition to their managerial duties, Day also introduced sustainability programs that saved over $100,000 over the course of 3 years. Chad coordinated program implementation with outside departments and developed relationships with key stakeholders.

Chad Day has a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from Auburn University, an M.P.A. in Government Administration from Columbus State University, and is currently enrolled in a Master's program in Public Administration at Tennessee State University. Chad also has a Juris Doctorate from the Nashville School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Tennessee Technological University. In addition, they have a high school diploma from Cookeville High School and certification from Duolingo in Spanish Fluency: Beginner (Estimated), National Swimming Pool Foundation Instructor, Nantahala Outdoor Center Guide School Certification, and Certified Pool Operator.
