Robert Barandas has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Robert started their career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Chad, Africa, from 1991 to 1993. Robert later worked as a Recruiter for the Peace Corps before transitioning to roles in marketing at UC Santa Cruz and VSP. Robert continued their marketing career at Cisco before moving to Genworth Financial as VP of Marketing. At Rabobank, they held various positions, including VP of Senior Product Manager and Senior VP of Vendor Relations. Currently, at Mechanics Bank, they serve as Senior VP, Director Corporate Services, overseeing various departments and initiatives post-merger with Rabobank.

Robert Barandas completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1987 to 1991. Later, from 1997 to 2001, they pursued their Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing at Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business.
