Myla Villanueva is the current Chair at MDI. Prior to that, they were with Novare Technologies, GSM Association (GSMA), and Meridian Telekoms.
Myla Villanueva has over 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Myla started their career as the founder and CEO of Meridian Telekoms, a broadband wireless company in the Philippines. Under their leadership, Meridian Telekoms quickly grew and was acquired by Smart Communications in 2004, in the largest tech M&A of that year.
After the acquisition, Myla Villanueva joined Smart Communications as its representative to the GSMA. Myla served on the Executive Management Committee (EMC) of the GSMA for six years, working closely with the Board of Directors which is represented by 22 CEO’s of major mobile operators around the world.
In their role at the GSMA, Myla Villanueva was responsible for technical, products and services interoperability on a global scale. Myla left the GSMA in 2010 to join Novare Technologies as its Chair.
At Novare Technologies, Myla Villanueva is responsible for leading the company’s strategy and operations. Novare Technologies is a leading provider of innovative solutions for the telecommunications industry.
Myla Villanueva has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Mapua Institute of Technology.
Myla Villanueva's educational career began at Ateneo de Manila University, where they earned a degree in Communications. Myla then went on to earn a law degree from Santa Clara University.
