Brian South is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in technical leadership, product development, and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as the Codes & Standards General Manager at McWane, Inc., Brian's previous roles include Technical Services Regional Manager and Mechanical Engineer at Excelitas Technologies Corp., where significant contributions included the design of over 150 opto-mechanical fixtures and managing a rapid prototyping lab. Brian co-founded Rombal Inc, focusing on orthopedic surgical devices, and has held various research and engineering positions at institutions such as The University of Texas at Austin, where complex optical systems were developed for the HET Telescope. Brian holds a Master of Science in Technology Commercialization from Texas McCombs School of Business and a Master of Science in Biomechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, along with a Professional Certificate in Finite Element Analysis from Colorado School of Mines.
