Berker Bilgin is an accomplished academic and entrepreneur with extensive experience in the field of electrification. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at McMaster University since July 2019, Berker focuses on electric motor drives, which are significant consumers of electrical energy, accounting for approximately 46% of global electricity demand. As Co-Founder and VP of Engineering at Enedym Inc., a start-up originating from McMaster University, Berker plays a key role in advancing technology in this sector. Previously, as Research Program Manager at MacAUTO from December 2014 to July 2019, Berker contributed to significant transportation electrification initiatives involving over 200 researchers and $150 million in programs. Additionally, Berker was the General Chair for the 2016 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, where important industry discussions on electrified vehicles took place. Berker holds an M.B.A. from McMaster University and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
