João Castanheira is a Specialist in Global HS Code Classification at MBCC Group since September 2023. Previously, João served as a Senior Specialist in Customs Classification at BASF from April 2021 to August 2023, managing the classification of 20 chemical products related to various sectors and overseeing customs processes for the UK. Prior experience includes a role as a Junior Systems Engineer at Indra, where João adapted software for the Portuguese tax structure, and as a Tutor at Be Smart With Us, providing multidisciplinary academic support to students. João also worked as a Process Operator at Solvay, focusing on customs classification and operational efficiency, and conducted undergraduate research on bacteria for rare metal reuse at the Microbiology Laboratory of Universidade de Coimbra. Educationally, João holds a Master's degree in Biochemistry from Universidade de Coimbra and a Licentiate degree in Biochemistry from Universidade da Beira Interior.
