Dr. Areepong Phuchaum is currently the chairman of the board. Independent Director and Audit Committee Maybank Securities (Thailand) Public Company Limited has been officially appointed since October 2018 .

Before taking the position with the company, Dr. Areepong was a qualified person and executive in many well-known organizations, having experience in responsibilities in key positions such as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy. and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports as well as having held the position chairman Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand , TOT Public Company Limited, Government Housing Bank and Thai Airways International Company Limited.

Dr. Areepong has also served as a director in major businesses. Many other companies such as PTT Public Company Limited, PTT Chemical Public Company Limited, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, Aromatics (Thailand) Public Company Limited and Manufacturing Company Ratchaburi Electricity Holding Public Company Limited

Dr. Areepong has no family relationship with other directors or major shareholder of Maybank as well as there is no conflict of interest with Maybank and never commit any wrongdoing.
