Scientific Team Lead at MaxWell Biosystems

Praveena Manogaran is a Senior Scientist at MaxWell Biosystems. Praveena was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher at Roche from September 2020 to February 2022, where they worked on Discovery Ophthalmology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases and Ophthalmology (I2O), and Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED). Praveena Manogaran also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Multimodal Imaging in Neuroimmunological Diseases (MINDs) from October 2015 to August 2020, where they explored the biological mechanisms and temporal sequence of neurodegeneration in experimental optic neuritis using optical coherence tomography, magnetic resonance imaging (i.e. diffusion tensor imaging), electrophysiology (i.e. visual evoked potentials) and ex-vivo tissue analysis. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Student at UBC MS/MRI Research Group from April 2012 to August 2015, and a Research Assistant at UBC Visual Cognition Lab from February 2011 to April 2013. Praveena Manogaran's focus areas include glaucoma, retinal ganglion cells, multielectrode arrays, and neuroprotection.

Praveena Manogaran completed a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science and Biology at The University of British Columbia. Praveena then completed a Master of Science in Experimental Medicine at The University of British Columbia. Lastly, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience at ETH Zürich.
