John N. Randall is currently an advisor at Max-IR Labs. Prior to that, they were the president of Zyvex Labs from April 2007 to January 2020. Before that, they were the Chief Technical Officer of Zyvex Corporation from March 2001 to April 2007. From January 1996 to December 1998, they worked as an assignee at IMEC. Their previous company was Texas Instruments, Inc., where they worked from January 1985 to December 2001. At Texas Instruments, they were a distinguished member of the technical staff. John fabricated the world's first quantum dot diode in collaboration with Mark Reed, Bill Frensley, and Bob Bate. John also developed the world's first quantum well bipolar transistor, room temp quantum integrated circuit, and lateral resonant tunneling diode.
John N. Randall has a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Houston, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Houston.
