Justin Croom began their work experience in 2016 as a Ronald E. McNair Scholar at the University of North Texas, where they conducted independent antihydrogen research. Justin presented their research at professional conferences and collaborated with graduate students and faculty on research projects. In 2019, they became a Teaching Assistant in the College of Engineering - Biomedical Engineering, where they instructed undergraduates and assisted with various courses.

In 2020, Justin joined Maverick Trading as a Proprietary Options Trader. In 2021, they transitioned to CalTech, where they served as an Information Security Analyst. In this role, they set a company record for fastest promotion, trained new Security Analysts, researched and remediated vulnerabilities, and communicated findings with the team. Justin then briefly worked as an IT Support Engineer, providing high-quality customer service and technical support to end users.

Justin Croom's education history includes attending the University of North Texas in 2015 to 2018, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Physics. Justin later enrolled at the University of North Texas in 2019 but postponed their studies in the field of Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering, thus not completing their Master of Science (MS) in Biomedical Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Justin Croom has obtained several certifications. In October 2020, they earned the CompTIA Security+ Certification. In August 2022, they obtained the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Justin also holds certifications from CompTIA, including the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), obtained in May 2022, and the CompTIA Security Analytics Professional (CSAP), also obtained in May 2022. Additionally, they have a Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from AWS, earned in March 2022.
