Sebastian Ruales is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive with extensive experience in the technology and energy sectors. As the CEO and Co-Founder of BIA since April 2022, Sebastian leads a company that integrates smart metering infrastructure data with energy retailing, focusing on consumer empowerment in energy management. In addition to this role, Sebastian co-founded and serves as Managing Partner at Opera Ventures, which supports Latin American tech startups, and acts as an Advisor at 8VC and a Venture Partner at MatterScale Ventures, both of which invest in innovative early-stage companies. Previously, Sebastian was part of the founding team at Rappi, where responsibilities included driving global business development and establishing sales strategies. A strong background in marketing and sales includes roles at L'Oréal, Quala S.A., and Johnson & Johnson. Sebastian holds an MBA from Tulane University and a Global MBA from Universidad ICESI, along with a Marketing Professional degree from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano.
