Kristen Murtos is the Chief Innovation & Transformation Officer for NorthShore – Edward-Elmhurst Health and is responsible for driving innovation and growth to enable peak organizational performance and sustainable differentiation through systematic business and care transformation.
Kristen leads teams and partners with leaders to develop forward thinking solutions for business challenges, inspiring ideas that drive progress, differentiation and future models of care. The innovation strategy combines technology, research, new venture strategies and operations to adapt to dynamic market forces and deliver community-connected care. She leads Innovation, Transformation and has oversight for Health Information Technology and the NorthShore Foundation. Murtos is steadfast in her commitment to bring new insights and capabilities to the front line and deepen consumer understanding to improve care and advance outcomes.
Kristen joined NorthShore in 1998 and most recently served as Chief Administrative and Strategy Officer overseeing Strategy, Business Development, Supply Chain, Revenue Cycle, Managed Care Contracting, Legal, Audit & Compliance, Marketing & Corporate Communications and the NorthShore Foundation.
Kristen previously served as President of NorthShore’s Skokie Hospital, and has extensive health care operations experience. Prior to NorthShore she worked at Deloitte Consulting where she advised clients in market strategy and operational improvement.
Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and masters’ degrees in business administration and public policy from the University of Chicago. She currently serves on the Ascension Ventures V Board, Vizient CSO Advisory Network, Northwestern Kellogg Advisory Council, Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Leader Alliance and the Advisory Board for the Kindness Connection.
