Kara Contreary is a Senior Economist at Mathematica since 2014, specializing in mixed methods research in health and disability within federal and state government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. Kara leads multidisciplinary teams in the collection and analysis of data and performs econometric and statistical analyses. Previously, as an Economist, Kara researched provider payment models and employment promotion for individuals with disabilities. Prior experience includes a role as a Prevention Effectiveness Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where Kara conducted quantitative research on tobacco cessation policy. Educationally, Kara holds a PhD in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Economics with a minor in Biological Sciences from Stanford University.
