Elisa Margarita has extensive experience in education and STEM advocacy, currently serving as a science educator with the NYC Department of Education since September 2002 and recognized as the 2022 NYC Sloan Award recipient for Teaching Excellence in Math and Science. As a New York State Master Teacher, Elisa is part of a network dedicated to fostering STEM learning among students and colleagues. Contributions to the field extend to leadership roles, including Past President of the Science Council of New York City (SCONYC) and Master Teacher for Math for America, where Elisa mentors emerging educators. Additionally, Elisa is actively involved with the Eastern Queens Composters as a board member and education consultant, promoting community composting initiatives. With a foundation in chiropractic medicine from Northeast College of Health Sciences, Elisa offers a unique perspective to health and education.
