Ryan Smith has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Ryan started their career as a Snowboard Instructor at Summit at Snoqualmie in 1995. Ryan then worked as a QA Lead in the Preston Bindings Division at Ride Snowboards from 1996 to 1999. After that, they worked as an Account Coordinator at Solomon Friedman Advertising, where they were responsible for events, marketing, and PR activities. In 2003, they joined the University of Phoenix and held various roles, including Academic Advisor, Enrollment Advisor, Re-entry Advisor, and Business Development Specialist. From 2007 to 2009, Ryan served as an Operations Manager at the University of Phoenix, overseeing three departments. Ryan then transitioned to the role of Associate Registrar, where they managed three departments and focused on delivering high levels of service. In 2011, Ryan joined Apollo Group as an Engagement and Product Manager before moving to Northcentral University in 2013. At Northcentral University, they served as the University Registrar and Director of Student Records, leading a multi-function registrar's office and optimizing resource allocation. In 2015, Ryan joined MST Solutions as a Practice Lead, where they led implementation projects and developed SDLC best practices. Ryan later became the Practice Director for the Public Sector and then the Vice President of Customer Success, focusing on go-to-market strategies and managing strategic relationships. Most recently, in 2022, Ryan joined Mastek as the Vice President of Customer Success for the Salesforce Business Unit.

Ryan Smith obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Public Relations from Arizona State University in 2002. Ryan then pursued a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix between 2006 and 2008. In 2015, Ryan attended Trailhead by Salesforce for the "Ranger" program. Prior to that, they completed an Associate's degree in General Studies and University Transfer from Green River College from 1996 to 1999. In terms of certifications, Ryan obtained a Certificate of Mental Health First Aid USA from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in February 2023. Ryan also holds several Salesforce certifications, including Salesforce Certified Service Cloud Consultant (2021), Salesforce Certified Education Cloud Consultant (2020), Salesforce Certified Administrator (2016), and Salesforce Certified App Builder (2016). Additionally, they have certifications in Practical Product Management from Pragmatic Marketing (2011), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Apollo Education Group (2009), and a Project Management Certificate from the University of Phoenix.
