Cynthia Gaines, GISP, has extensive experience in GIS management and analysis, currently serving as the GIS Manager at the Massachusetts Broadband Institute since 2009, where responsibilities include overseeing GIS programs and supporting the development of a 1,200 mile fiber-optic network. Previous roles include Project Manager/Sr. GIS Analyst at Sky Research, where GIS expertise was applied to munitions contamination detection projects, and Project Manager/Sr. GIS Analyst at Applied Geographics, focusing on environmental and facilities management. Early career experience includes GIS Specialist at Sanford Cohen & Associates, where spatial analysis and mapping services were provided for military site remediation. Cynthia holds a B.A. in Environmental Science & Economics from the University of Virginia.
