Laura Palmer has over two decades of experience in education, currently serving as an 8th Grade English Teacher in Mason City Schools since January 2003, with additional roles teaching 7th through 9th Grade English. In addition to teaching, Laura Palmer has demonstrated leadership as the founding and first Board President of the SHINE Syndrome Foundation from December 2021 to January 2024, focusing on supporting families and funding research for a genetic disorder. Laura Palmer holds a Master of Arts in Writing from Miami University (2004-2006) and a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Childhood Education from the same institution (1999-2002).
