Mike Van Metre is an accomplished Senior Operations/Project Manager at Marriott International, where since January 2002, Mike has directed advanced engineering projects involving emergency repairs and upgrades for commercial marine systems and assets exceeding $80 million. In addition to their role at Marriott, Mike served as an Assistant Coach for varsity volleyball and softball at Pope John Paul II Preparatory School from May 2018 to October 2023, also holding a sub-teaching position. Prior to this, Mike worked as an Operations Manager at Gaylord Entertainment Company from April 1997 to January 2002, focusing on team member development, safety training, and conflict resolution. Mike holds a BSBA in Business Administration and Management from Aquinas College, with additional education at Tennessee State University and Murray State University.
