Andy Clappen is an accomplished director with extensive experience in food technology and safety within prominent retail organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Food Technology at Marks and Spencer since July 2022, Andy oversees safety, quality, sustainability, innovation, and new product development for a leading retailer with a global presence. Previously, Andy held key roles at Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, including Group Corporate Services Director responsible for Corporate Affairs and Technical Services, and Corporate Technical Director focusing on food safety and compliance. Andy's prior experience at Loblaw Companies Limited included roles as Senior VP and Vice President of Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs, where responsibilities encompassed comprehensive safety management across a vast retail network. Andy began a career at Marks and Spencer in 1987 as a Technical Manager and holds a degree in Food Science from the University of Leeds.
