Yasuyoshi Goto has extensive experience in the legal field, starting in 1991 with Baker McKenzie where they worked as an Associate and later became a Partner, specializing in providing legal advice for commercial, IP protection, IT, and e-commerce issues.
In 2004, Yasuyoshi joined General Electric's Japan presence as a Senior Legal Counsel and advised senior executives in Japan, as well as supported legal matters for GE businesses such as GE Aviation and NBC Universal.
From 2007 to 2010, they worked at IBM Japan as a Legal Counsel, handling major outsourcing and IT service deals, software licensing, and financing matters. Yasuyoshi also managed a division focused on litigation, outside counsel management, investigation, and compliance.
Following their tenure at IBM Japan, Yasuyoshi joined MODEC, Inc. in 2014 as an Executive Managing Officer, General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer, before moving on to establish their own law office in 2018.
Most recently, in 2020, they joined Marelli, serving as SVP, Group General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer and later becoming the SVP of Global Compliance and APAC Legal.
Yasuyoshi Goto obtained a LL.B. degree in Law from Chuo University in 1982. Yasuyoshi then attended The Legal Training and Research Institute of Japan from 1989 to 1991 for further legal education. In 1994, they pursued an LL.M. degree in Law at Columbia Law School and also attended the Columbia University School of General Studies for a non-degree program in English Language and an Introduction to American Studies. In 2006, Yasuyoshi Goto completed a Manager Development Course at the John F. Welch Leadership Development Center.
