Brendan Darby is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the development and commercialization of innovative technologies. As the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Marama Labs since February 2019, Brendan leads the development of patented UV-Vis spectroscopy technology and cloud software aimed at industries such as winemaking, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and water quality testing. Prior to this role, Brendan was the Commercialisation and Research Leader at Victoria University of Wellington, where significant contributions were made to the development of a novel UV-Vis instrument. Brendan's academic background includes a PhD in Physics from The MacDiarmid Institute and Victoria University of Wellington, with a focus on the optical properties of dye molecules, along with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Dublin City University. Earlier professional experiences include roles at Pyrotek Inc., TEAM Accessories Ltd., and Engineering Solutions International Ltd., where skills in product development, consulting, and research were honed.
