Merrick Lex Berman possesses extensive experience in geospatial consulting and geographic information systems. Currently serving as Assistant GIS Admin at the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, Berman focuses on processing statistical data and supporting spatial databases. As the owner of Diamond Bay Research since 1999, Berman has provided geospatial consulting services, collaborating with notable clients such as ChinaOnline and Harvard University. Previous roles include Data Integration/IT Temp at Harvard Kennedy School, Institute Fellow at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science at Harvard University, Web Services Manager and GIS Specialist at the Center For Geographic Analysis at Harvard University, and Project Manager for the China Historical Geographic Information System. Initiating a career at the MIT Internet & Telecoms Consortium, Berman also holds a Master's degree in Chinese from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and attended Columbia University.
