Mekhela Uchil started their work experience in 2019 with Civis as a Research and Survey professional for a brief period of one month. Mekhela then joined Teach For India in 2020 as a Fellow and worked until April 2022. Currently, they are employed at Mantra4Change as a School Transformation Lead, starting in June 2022.

Mekhela Uchil pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at St. Xavier's College from 2017 to 2020.
