Lorena Palao Martinez currently holds the position of Técnica de proyectos at Manos Unidas since October 2023. Previously, Lorena served as Técnica de proyectos at IABS - Instituto Brasileiro de Desenvolvimento e Sustentabilidade from August 2022 to July 2023, and collaborated with the Departamento de Economía Aplicada at Universidad Complutense de Madrid between November 2021 and June 2022. Additional experience includes working on global security initiatives at Oxfam Intermón from February to July 2021 and project planning focused on socio-economic integration of refugees in Mexico with Centro de Apoyo Marista al Migrante and Tecnológico de Monterrey in early 2020. A foundational role as a lifeguard at Morey's Piers in 2018 enhanced adaptability and teamwork skills. Lorena holds a Master's degree in Strategies and Technologies for Development from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, alongside an academic exchange year at Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2019-2020.
