Matthias Schmeing is an experienced professional in the media and journalism sector, currently serving as Leiter technologische Transformation and Head of Digital at Mannheimer Morgen since May 2012. Matthias is also a member of the Mannheimer Morgen Editorial Board. Prior to this role, involvement included working as a Redakteur at Westdeutsche Zeitung and operating as a freelance journalist and consultant, providing services in crossmedia, web offerings, and social media. Matthias joined Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (WAZ) in various capacities, including CvD Online and project leader for WAZ.de redesign. Academic qualifications include a Design Thinking Coach certification from Hasso Plattner Institute, along with a diploma in sports education from Ruhr University Bochum and early training in banking at Sparkasse Essen.
