Shawn McDonald is an accomplished legal professional specializing in patent litigation, strategic patent monetization, and portfolio management. Currently serving as Counsel at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP since July 2020, Shawn has previously held the role of Attorney at The Law Office of Shawn E. McDonald from May 2017 to July 2020, and was a Partner at Foley & Lardner LLP from 2009 to April 2017. Earlier career experiences include Associate positions at Latham & Watkins and Fish & Neave, as well as a Clerkship with The Honorable Chief Judge Michel at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Prior to venturing into law, Shawn worked as a Product Engineer in fuel injectors and fuel systems at Siemens Automotive. Shawn holds a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, an MBA from William & Mary – Raymond A. Mason School of Business, and a BSME in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University.
