John Miller has held various positions in companies focused on renewable energy and sustainability. John was the President of Mana Pacific Inc which aimed to address resource scarcity and climate risk in the Pacific. John served as a VP of Operations at Pacific Solar Innovations, Inc. which focused on providing renewable energy resources to the local community of American Samoa. Additionally, they were the President/Co-Founder of The Fanua Foundation, which aimed to reduce the Pacific's overall dependency on fossil fuels. Other positions held by John Miller included Director of Business Development at Hawai'i Unified, Board Trustee at AREI, and Ambassador at Island Innovation. John also served as Project Manager at DYC Electric SRVC, LLC, and in various roles in the US Navy. John Miller joined the National Small Business Association's Leadership Council to tackle critical issues facing small businesses. John also joined the PAIA YOUTH COUNCIL INC as a Board Member and worked towards solving issues like youth homelessness and affordable housing in the community.
John Miller earned a BS degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology (TAC-ABET) from Thomas Edison State University from 2016 to 2019. John also completed an Advanced PV System Design program at Solar Energy International (SEI) but the dates of attendance are unknown. John attended the Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) from 2001 to 2003. John Miller obtained the US Navy Diver certification from Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center in an unknown year. John graduated from Monticello Senior High School in 2000. In addition, they also obtained certifications in Procurement of Private Renewable Energy IPPs in Islands from Clinton Climate + Initiative in December 2020 and a NABCEP Board Certified PV Installation Professional from NABCEP: North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners in June 2014.
