Rico Baumann has extensive work experience in the legal and compliance field. Rico is currently the Chief Compliance Officer at MAN Energy Solutions, a role they have held since 2015. Prior to this, Rico worked as a Regional Compliance Officer at Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus from 2010 to 2015, focusing on Latin America. Rico also worked as a Lawyer and Consultant at a commercial law firm in São Paulo, Brazil, from 2009 to 2010, where they managed project teams and client relationships with a focus on cross-border transactions and corporate issues. Rico began their legal career as a Lawyer at Linklaters in Frankfurt, Germany, from 2004 to 2007. Rico then worked as a Legal Trainee at Linklaters in São Paulo, Brazil, and at Taylor Wessing in Berlin, Germany. Rico also gained experience as a Legal Trainee at the Federal State of Berlin from 2001 to 2002.

Rico Baumann (Dr., LL.M.) completed a General Management Program (GMP) at Saïd Business School and WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in 2012. Rico obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Brasília in 2012. In 2000, they earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Commercial and Corporate Law from University College London (UCL). Rico Baumann also holds a Doctorate in International Trade Law, US and EU Telecommunications Law, and Competition Law from Technische Universität Dresden, which they completed from 2003 to 2006. Rico attained a 2nd Legal State Examination in Law from the Federal State of Berlin in 2003 and a Post Grad. in European Company and Business Law from Bielefeld University in 1999. Rico Baumann began their educational journey by earning a 1st Legal State Examination degree in Law from Leipzig University in 1999.
