Gunel Guliyeva has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles.
In their most recent position as Co-Founder and COO at Makini, Gunel played a crucial role in building the technical infrastructure API that connects industrial facility operators, facility management system providers, and developers. Gunel was responsible for making it easy for users to connect their facility management systems to an app. Gunel also actively participated in hiring and team-building efforts.
Prior to Makini, Gunel served as a Supply Chain Manager at OPEX Energy Middle-East, where they displayed their expertise in managing the supply chain operations of the company.
Gunel also worked as a Purchasing and Logistics Officer at Harris Pye, overseeing all international and local purchasing, as well as logistics activities for the company. Gunel managed suppliers and ensured timely order and delivery of materials for multiple projects.
Gunel's previous experience at Topaz Energy and Marine involved their working as a Procurement Officer and Tengiz Project Procurement Lead, where they oversaw all international procurement activities for the construction and mobilization of 20 module carrying vessels. Gunel managed the sourcing and evaluation of suppliers and ensured the timely delivery of materials. Gunel also served as a Procurement & Marine Operations Coordinator, where they managed operational and procurement coordination for multiple vessels.
At Halliburton, Gunel held the roles of Asset Coordinator and Logistics Specialist. As an Asset Coordinator, they coordinated plant and equipment control, managing assets utilization and redeployment. As a Logistics Specialist, Gunel oversaw the domestic and international movement of high-value drilling equipment, ensuring optimal delivery and compliance with local and international laws.
Gunel started their career as a Training Coordinator at Falck Safety Services, where they provided administrative support and coordinated training course logistics for maritime and oil and gas professionals.
Gunel also worked as an Administrative Officer at OTI International and as a Personal Assistant at Aksu.

Gunel Guliyeva received their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Systems from the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, where they studied from 2004 to 2008. In addition, they obtained certifications in Procurement Management and Tenders Organization and Participation from the PRO LOG Training Center - CIPS Approved International Study Centre in October 2018.
