Mbali Magubane has a diverse work experience in the design industry. Mbali is currently working at MakeReign as a Digital Designer (UX/UI) since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Penquin as a Social media designer and content creator from January 2021 to May 2023. Before Penquin, they worked at DNAfit as a Creative Graphic Designer from August 2018 to January 2021. Mbali also worked at Assegai & Javelin Advertising as a Multimedia Designer from January 2017 to August 2018. Additionally, they had freelance experience as a Graphic Designer at The Unlimited for a short period in November to December 2016. Mbali also worked as a Lecturer Assistant at Durban University of Technology from February 2016 to October 2016. Mbali'searly experience includes working as a Graphic Designer at Assagai & javelin from August 2015 to February 2016 and as an Intern (graphic designer) at International Trend Institute in July 2014.

Mbali Magubane attended Seatides Combined from 1998 to 2009 and obtained a Matric degree with a Bachelor's pass. Mbali then pursued a degree in Graphic Design at Durban University of Technology from 2012 to 2014, specializing in Visual Communication. In 2016, Mbali Magubane briefly studied Graphic Design at Durban University of Technology, focusing on Visual Communication. Lastly, in 2022-2023, they enrolled at Red & Yellow Creative School of Business, where they obtained a degree in User-Centred Design with a concentration in Communication and Media Studies.
