Neil Korsen has a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare. Neil began their career as the Medical Director at Sacopee Valley Health Center, where they played a crucial role in rebuilding the provider staff and helping the health center recover from a crisis. Neil also brought family medicine residents for rotations in rural medicine during their seven-year tenure.

Neil then joined the Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program as the Research Director. Here, they taught research methodology and evidence-based medicine to residents and fellows while providing mentorship to those involved in research.

Subsequently, Neil became a part of MaineHealth as the Medical Director for Behavioral Health Integration. Neil worked on creating a locally adapted approach to behavioral health integration, securing funding, and implementing this approach in over twenty primary care practices.

Currently, Neil is self-employed as a healthcare consultant. Neil is a member of the National Integration Academy Council, where they collaborate with AHRQ in developing a website and resources on the integration of behavioral health and primary care. Neil is also the principal investigator for the Integration Quality Measures Atlas.

Throughout their career, Neil has demonstrated expertise in healthcare integration and quality measure reporting, making significant contributions to improving healthcare systems.

Neil Korsen earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology/Psychology from Dartmouth College in 1975. Neil then went on to pursue a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Hahnemann Medical College, completing their studies in 1979.
