Ross Porter is the Co-CEO at Maicom. Prior to their current position, Ross was a venture capital associate sourcing and analyzing investments in healthcare and high-tech startups at Lux Capital from June 2014 to September 2014. Ross is also the co-founder of Embrace Hearing, a company that was acquired in 2015 and was recognized in The New York Times, TechCrunch, Bloomberg Businessweek, and The Huffington Post for the positive disruption of the hearing aid industry. Ross was interviewed on NPR for their work at Embrace Hearing. Prior to their work at Embrace Hearing, Ross worked as a mechanical engineer and project manager at NuvoSun from September 2009 to December 2012. NuvoSun was acquired by DOW Chemical in 2013. Ross also has experience as a mechanical engineer from their time at Hands On Engineering from June 2008 to September 2008 where they worked on a two person team to research, model, and then build a fully functioning prototype of an electric surfboard. Ross has also worked as a mechanical engineer on the X1 Electric Vehicle at Stanford University PRL and Dynamic Design Laboratory from January 2006 to December 2009. Additionally, Ross has experience working in product realization at Stanford University from September 2007 to June 2009.
Ross Porter received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Ross then went on to receive an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University as well. After working for a few years, Ross decided to return to school to earn their MBA from Harvard Business School.
