Rachel Lavender is an experienced Youth Services Librarian at Madison Public Library, with a strong background in library and information science. Previous roles include serving as a Records & Forms Management Specialist at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and working as a Metadata Specialist at George Mason University. Rachel also held the position of American Indian Studies Librarian at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where responsibilities included cataloging and outreach. Additional experience includes roles at the Wisconsin Historical Society, University of Wisconsin-Extension, and Kohler Art Library, with a focus on archival management, digital cataloging, and patron services. Rachel holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor's degree in Public/Applied History from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
