Wayne Byres is an experienced financial leader currently serving as a Non-Executive Director at ASX Limited and Macquarie Bank Limited, as well as a Director at O'Connell Street Associates. Byres is also an Expert Advisor at the International Monetary Fund. Previously, Byres held prominent roles including Chair of the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and Member of the Payments System Board at the Reserve Bank of Australia. Additional experience includes serving as Secretary General of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and various senior executive positions at APRA. Byres has been involved in multiple regulatory councils and committees and has contributed to academic institutions as an advisory board member.
