Jane Macfarlane is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in smart cities, transportation, and machine learning. Currently serving as a Board Member at LYT and holding dual roles as Director of Smart Cities and Sustainable Mobility and Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, Jane leads initiatives that leverage high-performance computing and artificial intelligence to analyze urban mobility dynamics. As CEO and Founder of Seurat Labs, Jane addresses challenges posed by autonomous vehicles and data ownership, promoting innovative technological solutions for societal benefit. Previous roles include Executive Director of the Sustainable Transportation Initiative at Berkeley Lab and Chief Scientist at HERE, where Jane advanced geospatial mapping and connected vehicle technologies. Jane holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a BA in Math/System Science from UCLA.
