Stephanie Karr is a seasoned music administration professional with extensive experience in the arts sector, currently serving as Senior Director of Music Administration at the Lyric Opera of Chicago since September 2003. Karr oversees major performing ensembles and manages a significant number of union employees, handling responsibilities that include negotiating contracts, advising on collective bargaining agreements, and liaising with guest conductors. Karr's previous roles at the Lyric Opera include Director of Music Administration, Chorus, Orchestra & Ballet Manager, and Chorus Manager, each involving substantial oversight of personnel and operations. Karr holds a Master of Arts in Management from Columbia College Chicago and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Iowa, alongside a brief tenure as a ticketing agent and consulting work for the Chicago Bach Project.
