Mario Distelvelt has a diverse work experience in the field of process operations. Mario has worked at various companies including LyondellBasell, Air Products, ExxonMobil, ICI HOLLAND BV, Promates BV, and Masterfoods. Mario started their career in 1994 as an Operator at Masterfoods and then went on to work as an Operator at Promates BV. Mario later joined ICI HOLLAND BV as a Procesoperator, and then worked at ExxonMobil in the same role. Mario then joined LyondellBasell as a Procesoperator and later became a Principal Technician. After that, they worked at Air Products as a Procesoperator. Their most recent position is at LyondellBasell as a Principal Technician, a role they started in 2013 and is still ongoing.

Mario Distelvelt attended the Shell bedrijfsschool and obtained a Vapro-B degree. Mario also attended Technicom Opleidingen and completed a Vapro-C degree.
