Diego Gallardo is a highly experienced professional in the field of semiconductors and sensors, currently serving as a Senior Engineering Development Manager in R&D at Lumentum, focusing on III-V semiconductors, lasers, and photonic integrated circuits since March 2022. Previously, Diego held the position of Senior System Engineer and Technical Project Lead at ams OSRAM, working on spectral sensors and III-V semiconductors. As Lead Researcher - Physics at Sharp Laboratories of Europe, the role involved technical management of sensor projects. Earlier experience includes roles at TT Electronics plc as a Sensor Technologist, at Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge as a Research Associate focusing on organic solar cells, and as a Research Fellow at Cranfield University specializing in inorganic and hybrid solar cells. Diego holds a PhD in Physics from Cranfield University and a degree in Physics from Universidad de Sevilla.
