Roy’s primary focus is on leading the organization’s finance and IT departments to identify and accomplish financial and technology goals for the corporation and its business units.
As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, Roy is active in supporting long-term growth initiatives, capital allocation processes and the values based leadership mission of the company.
Prior to joining Luck Companies, Roy served as Chief Financial Officer at RealNetworks, a publicly owned technology company, Juniper Financial Corporation, a technology-driven credit card issuer, and Heilig-Meyers, a national furniture retailer. In these roles, Roy was responsible for accounting, finance, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions as well as facilities management.
Roy holds a B.S. in finance from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the University of Richmond and sits on the boards of several local nonprofit organizations.
Wanda Ortwine
CHIEF FAMILY OFFICER, LUCK COMPANIES
As Chief Family Officer and a member of the Luck Companies Strategic Leadership Team, Wanda is responsible for leading the Family Office, which supports the family and Luck Companies in achieving their vision for future generations. Her focus is on long-term financial sustainability through thoughtful and comprehensive business ownership and leadership succession plans, estate and tax planning, asset protection, investment strategies, and diversification.
Wanda began her career with the company in 2007 as the Family Office Manager. She brings value to the company by leading short and long-term strategies to ensure continuity for the multi-generational business. One of her key objectives is to preserve the Lucks’ values and business interests from generation to generation, building for the future by providing counseling on education and training.
Prior to joining Luck Companies, Wanda served as Chief Specialty Practice Officer, Director of Tax Services, and board member at Witt Mares, PLC. There, she was responsible for managing operations of the tax, financial services, and pension plan design and administration divisions.
Wanda holds a B.S. in accounting from Truman State University and an M.S. in taxation from Arizona State University. She currently serves on the boards of the Luck Companies Foundation and First Things First of Greater Richmond.
Mark Barth
CHIEF TALENT OFFICER, LUCK COMPANIES
Mark currently serves as the Chief Talent Officer for Luck Companies based in Richmond, Virginia. Previously, Mark was the President of Har-Tru Sports and Luck Stone Center prior to their divestiture in 2016. Mark has served in various human resource and operational business roles throughout his 20 years with Luck Companies.
Mark joined Luck from a sales role with Hill Phoenix in Colonial Heights, his first civilian position after serving in the US Army for 8 years after college. During his military tenure, Mark held leadership and staff positions as a medical service corps officer with the 8th Infantry Division located in West Germany and the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) located in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
He graduated from Virginia Military Institute and obtained an MBA from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. In 2008, Mark earned a certificate in Business Coaching from NC State in 2008.
John LeGore
PRESIDENT, LUCK STONE
John has been serving as the President of Luck Stone since 2014, and is responsible for leadership development, sales, operations, financial performance, and growth of the business unit.
LeGore grew up in the mining industry outside of Frederick, Maryland where his family owned and operated a limestone quarry that dates back to the late 1800’s. He was employed by Luck Stone in 1989 as a Supervisory Trainee. He continued his career in various operational capacities including Quarry Foreman and Plant Manager of Luck Stone’s Leesburg Plant. In 1998, LeGore assumed the role of Northern Region Vice President, where he has had the opportunity to lead a region that doubled in size through new sites and acquisitions.
He received his B.A. in Business/Economics from Western Maryland College and later completed an executive education program from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. John serves on the Luck Companies Strategic Leadership Team and leads the Luck Stone Leadership Team. He currently serves on the board and Executive Committee for NSSGA. John is a past President and board member of the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance.
Charlie Luck IV
PRESIDENT AND CEO, LUCK COMPANIES - FOUNDER, INNERWILL
As President and CEO, Charlie Luck is the third-generation family member to lead the 94 year-old, privately held organization. He is focused on developing the company’s vision, and leads the Strategic Leadership Team, guiding Luck Companies towards fulfilling its mission to "ignite human potential through Values Based Leadership and positively impacting the lives of others around the world." The mission of Luck Companies to ignite human potential is activated through the associates in each of the three business units: Luck Stone, Luck EcoSystems and Luck Real Estate Ventures.
Charlie began his career with the company in 1980 as a summer trainee while he attended Virginia Military Institute. Charlie graduated in 1983 with a Civil Engineering degree. Charlie competed on the NASCAR circuit for 4 years before returning to Luck Companies. After working in many facets of the business, as well as attending several executive education programs at Darden School of Business (UVA), he rose to President and CEO in 1999.
Charlie is founder and Chairman of Innerwill, a non-profit organization committed to developing better people, braver leaders and a wiser world. An Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award recipient and Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame inductee, Charlie has served on numerous boards, including: National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA), Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance, Luck Foundation, Saint Christopher's School, YMCA, Virginia Military Institute's Jackson-Hope Fund, Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges, as well as the Robins School of Business Executive Advisory Council.
John Pullen
CHIEF GROWTH OFFICER, LUCK COMPANIES
In his role as Chief Growth Officer and a member of Luck Companies Strategic Leadership Team, John is responsible for balancing the portfolio of the enterprise to deliver best in class financial results, as well as identifying global trends that have relevancy to the future growth of the business.
John joined the company in 1993 in the Real Estate Division. Prior to serving in his current position, he was Vice President of Real Estate, Vice President of Strategic Development responsible for leading the business strategy development for the corporation, and President of Luck Stone.
Before joining Luck Companies, John served as Vice President of the InnsLand Group, a real estate development consulting company, and oversaw the development of significant commercial and residential projects in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
John holds a B.S. and MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. He was recently appointed by the governor to serve as a Commissioner of the Virginia Port Authority, which fosters and stimulates commerce through the ports of the Commonwealth. He serves on the boards of the VCU Rice Center and the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association.
