Laura Hopes Ellender is a seasoned attorney currently serving as Attorney 4 at the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development since May 2022. Previously, Laura served as Attorney 3 at the Louisiana Department of Public Safety for over twelve years, representing the Office of Motor Vehicles and conducting legal research and litigation on issues related to driver's license suspensions and violations. Laura began their legal career as a law clerk, gaining experience at various firms and organizations, including Laura Mauffray Borchert, Phelps Dunbar LLP, and Harrell & Nowak, while also completing a legal internship at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Laura holds a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Louisiana State University.
