Michele is the co-founder and executive director of the Windward Foundation, a non-profit organization with a mission to ease the burden of caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease. Founded in late 2016, the foundation has funded over 4,500 hours of care consultations delivered by the Alzheimer’s Association along with providing family caregiving training and respite programs in the National Capital Area. Michele played a significant role in caring for her father when he was diagnosed in 2010 and saw first-hand the devastating effect that the disease can have on the unpaid family caregiver and their family.
